Providing Consultation Services, Resources and Support for Qualitative Research

Qualitative Methods and Analysis Collaborative (QMAC) provides consultation services, resources, and support in qualitative study design, data collection, and data analysis for faculty, fellows, residents, and graduate students within the Cincinnati Children's and the University of Cincinnati. Support of research endeavors at outside institutions and academic centers may also be provided upon request.

We work with investigators at all stages of research from conception and funding application to execution to provide conceptual and technical support for clinical, community-based, education, and advocacy-related qualitative research questions. Investigators can select from a comprehensive menu of services based upon their research needs and budget.

Support throughout the project including advising on qualitative activities:

  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Study design
  • Funding proposal or protocol development
  • Study conduct
  • Dissemination of results

Training existing study staff in:

  • One-on-one semi-structured interviews
  • Group facilitation
  • Alternative qualitative data collection techniques (e.g., Photovoice, Group Level Assessment, Delphi)
  • Coding and analysis including the use of qualitative coding software

Providing trained staff for:

  • Data collection (interviewing, facilitation)
  • Data coding and analysis

Workshops on qualitative and participatory research topics may be available upon request.
