Brachial Plexus Injury Care: Expertise, Innovation and Coordinated Support

High-Volume Surgical Expertise

Our experience includes: • 2,549 patients treated • 10,238 clinic visits completed • 1,443 total procedures performed • 352 nerve surgeries • 433 shoulder surgeries • 256 Botox procedures • 218 thoracic outlet surgeries (latest statistics as of July 1, 2025)

For cases involving complex nerve repairs, two surgeons operate together. This collaborative approach is unique and adds another level of expertise during procedures.

Innovative Treatments and Research

At the Brachial Plexus Center, we offer the full range of care, from non-surgical therapy to advanced microsurgical nerve repair—for patients even less than a year old. Nerve surgery may begin as early as 3 to 6 months of age, when needed.

In addition, our team leads large, multi-center clinical studies and partners with basic science researchers to improve patient outcomes. This means your child may have access to new approaches not widely available elsewhere.

Coordinated, Team-Based Brachial Plexus Care

Your child is seen by a dedicated team that includes surgeons, a nurse practitioner, occupational therapists and social worker. By comparison, most other centers offer only one or two physicians. Our broader team helps address movement, pain, development and provides family support—all in one setting.

We focus on what can be done, and needs to be done, for your child to reach their personal goals—not just what treatment is available.

Dedicated Support for Traveling Families

About 40 percent of our patients come from outside the Cincinnati tri-state area, and we serve families from across the country. We make visits as smooth as possible with our program specialist and clinical program manager scheduling appointments and helping coordinate testing.

We also connect families with travel resources and accommodations. Whether you live nearby or across the country, we help you plan each step with confidence.
