Injury Prevention Programs and Resources
Car Seat Safety
At the Comprehensive Children’s Injury Center, our dedicated team helps families understand how to choose and use a car seat safely. Families can also schedule appointments for car seat checks as their child grows.
We manage free car seat resources through the Ohio Buckles Buckeyes Program for eight counties, including: Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton, Highland and Warren.
Support for Special Needs
Our team is trained to help transport children with special healthcare needs, including support with adaptive car seat equipment. We also offer loaner seats for families with short-term needs. These may include children who have temporary casts or braces.
Safety Programs for Children
Injury prevention extends beyond car seats. Our programs also help families address safety at home and in the community.
Available services include home safety, firearm safety, bike and helmet safety, and community outreach. Our team works with children and families from infancy through age 12.
Local Programs With Broad Reach
Our Injury Prevention team serves families throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. We also support injury prevention efforts in local communities.
Each year, about 3,500 children and families receive services through our injury prevention efforts. In addition to self-referral, families can also be referred through other Cincinnati Children’s programs, including Orthopaedics, NICU, Perlman Center, DDBP and the Heart Institute.
