The Division of Diabetes and Endocrinology cares for children and teens with diabetes (prediabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes), hypoglycemia, and other endocrine conditions such as growth, puberty, thyroid, hormone-related conditions, and bone health concerns. Our specialists also work together with other medical teams to care for children after bone marrow transplant, after cancer treatment, and with neuromuscular disorders to create a clear care plan for your child. From diagnosis and specialized testing to treatment and long-term follow-up, we partner with families and referring providers to coordinate care every step of the way.

A dedicated nurse coordinator helps families before, during and after visits. They can gather records and lab results, answer questions, arrange follow-up visits and help with medications. They also help families stay connected through MyChart.

New Options for Diabetes and Endocrine Care

Our diabetes team offers established treatments such as insulin pumps, insulin injections and other diabetes medicines. We also offer Teplizumab (Tzield ©), a disease-modifying therapy that may delay the onset of type 1 diabetes in eligible patients. Our division also takes part in clinical research focused on new treatments for type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Endocrinology Clinical Laboratory

Our clinical lab provides the highest level of diagnostic specimen testing for children and adolescents with endocrine system disorders.
