Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
Thanks to all who joined us for the Heart Institute Family Zoo Day!
It was a fun day for our pediatric, adolescent and adult patients, patient families and our heart angel families as well as Heart Institute staff and families to spend time together enjoying the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.
Day of Event
- Check in with Heart Institute staff at the Main or Safari entrances to get free zoo tickets and picnic wristbands.
- Heart Institute check-in will be open from 10am-12pm.
- Once inside the zoo, you are free to explore at your leisure.
- Lunch will be served between 11:30am-1pm at Safari Picnic Grove. (view map)
- You are welcome to eat at the designated shelters in Picnic Grove.
- There is no formal presentation or schedule so you can continue to enjoy the zoo after lunch.
- This event will be held, rain or shine.
Check-in will close promptly at 12pm.
- Free zoo tickets and picnic wristbands will not be handed out after 12pm so our Heart Institute staff may enjoy the picnic with their families. Please allow ample time for travel and parking detours.
- If you arrive after 12pm, you can still enter the zoo by using your zoo membership or by purchasing tickets. However, only guests who registered in advance and receive wristbands at check-in will be permitted by zoo staff to attend the picnic.
Lunch
- Lunch will include burgers and hot dogs as well as other picnic-style food.
- For any dietary restrictions, you are responsible for providing your own food. Our ability to accommodate special diets is extremely limited at this event.
- Drinks will include choice of water, iced tea and lemonade.
- The cookies available for dessert are pre-packaged and manufactured on shared equipment with peanuts and tree nuts.

Parking is included with your zoo ticket. Simply present zoo ticket to the parking attendant when exiting the lot as proof of payment.
