As a nurse practitioner, I care for children and young adults who have outpatient bone marrow transplants. I believe health care should be family-centered, especially when working with children. Including the family in treatment choices, whenever possible, is crucial to taking care of the child. It's also essential to maintain a sense of normalcy when dealing with chronically ill children.
I’ve always been interested in science and the human body. Seeing nurses and nurse practitioners integrate medicine with personal interactions led me to my current position.
In my free time, I have five daughters who keep me busy. I love to bake and watch my daughters' dance competitions. I also like to play with my grandsons, especially board games.
