About

Biography

My clinical specialty is diagnostic genetics. As a fellow in the Genetics and Genomics Diagnostic Laboratory, I help analyze, interpret and report genetic test results of patients with hereditary or acquired disorders. I also develop and validate new genetic tests in the lab. While I don’t see patients often, I’m mindful that every case I review in the lab is a patient; therefore, maximum efforts should be given to each case.

I am also a researcher interested in hematological disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders and precision medicine.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family, sightseeing and playing chess.

BSc (Hons): Biochemistry, University of Fort Hare, Alice, South Africa.

MSc: Bioinformatics, Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Arica.
