Pay Your Bill

At Cincinnati Children’s, we believe your focus should be on caring for your child, rather than worrying about the bill paying process. We offer several options to make bill payment easier and more convenient for you.

Pay Online

  • Pay your bill online, free of charge.

  • Home Medical Equipment, Home Pharmacy Only: Quick Pay allows you to pay your Home Medical Equipment and/or Home Pharmacy bill online.

Pay by Phone

  • Customer Service can accept payment by credit card over the phone at 1-877-430-8495 option #1 or 1-513-636-4427. You can make a payment Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 5 pm.

  • Automated Self-Pay System: 1-513-517-2328, available 24/7.

Pay by Mail

  • You can pay your bill through the mail using a check, money order or major credit card. When mailing a payment, please include the statement voucher connected to the billing statement.

Billing FAQs

A deductible is the amount of money you must pay before the insurance company begins covering part or all of your medical expenses.

Co-insurance is a set percentage of the insured medical expenses that you may have to pay after you reach your deductible. Co-insurance can vary greatly among insurance plans, so check with your provider to find out how much co-insurance you may have to pay.

You may use Online Business Office to view insurance payment information. If you have additional questions about insurance payments, please call your insurance company directly. The insurance company's phone number is usually printed on the back of your insurance card.

A co-payment is a set payment made at the time a service is received. Co-payments can vary greatly among insurance plans, so check with your provider to find out how much you may have to pay. We ask that you pay your co-payment when you register.

You will be registered as "self-pay" during registration, which means you are responsible for paying the entire bill. However, you may use Online Business Office or call 513-636-4427 to provide your insurance information.

The cost for a video visit is often the same as cost for an in person visit. Co-payment, co-insurance, and/or deductible amounts apply to video visits. You may be billed for those after Cincinnati Children’s bills your insurance.

Video visits are covered by Ohio Medicaid and their plans. (CareSource, etc.) Most insurance plans cover video visits. A small number of employers may not cover video visits.

Cincinnati Children's files the claim with your insurance company. Please make sure that we have your correct insurance information on file.

Hospital coverage often has a deductible or out-of-pocket expense that you are responsible for paying. Since each plan can be different, we encourage you to carefully review your benefits.

Cincinnati Children’s provides a wide range of medically related services for independent clinics, area physicians and other hospitals. For example, a pediatrician or health center may refer lab work to Cincinnati Children’s for testing or analysis. When this occurs, the bill for the lab services will come from Cincinnati Children’s.

We are committed to providing healthcare needs to every child regardless of a family’s ability to pay. All families that reside in the United States are eligible for discounts and are offered payment plan options for services deemed medically necessary. Families may even be eligible for resources beyond Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center financial assistance. Our Financial Advocates can help you manage your child’s medical bills.

Before an account is referred to a collection agency, you will receive three billing statements from Cincinnati Children’s. You may also receive a phone call from our Billing Office. If you have not made a payment or payment arrangements after these steps have been taken, the account will be referred a collection agency. These agencies act under the direction of Cincinnati Children’s. Once an account is placed with an outside collection agency, we ask that you work directly with the agency to resolve the balance. Before an account is placed with a collection agency, you will receive three billing statements from Cincinnati Children's advising you of your child's account activity. You may also receive phone calls from Cincinnati Children's billing office personnel during this billing period.
