I am a school-based clinical counselor providing therapy services for middle schoolers from fifth through eighth grade. This age is a time of immense growth and possibility. Kids come to me with unique skills and just need a little guidance and refining to make those skills work to their best ability. I also look at their support systems and help them identify others who can help them grow and sustain change. I work to build on their strengths and courage to keep them moving forward.
My interest in this work stems from my desire to be a “helper.” This specialty allows me to help by showing the way and allowing kids, and their families, to be the best they can be. While working with kids can be challenging, I find them to be incredibly resilient, funny and kind. I appreciate that they want to experience life to the fullest. They want to be good friends and good adults, and I am struck by their ability to learn and grow.
When I’m not working, I like to read, watch movies and spend time with my husband, our two boys and our dog. We love spending time outside in the summer.
