About

Biography

I’m a pediatrician with specialized training in critical care medicine, and I have a deep commitment to leveraging medical education to enhance patient outcomes. I’m confident that patients are safest and care is maximized when situational awareness is optimized. This requires that all staff are well educated. I train frontline providers to effectively assess and manage critically ill patients through innovative educational methods. This approach is designed to enhance the ability of all staff to anticipate, plan for and prevent patient deterioration, as well as respond effectively when such events occur.

My passion for this work comes from a lifelong desire to care for sick children, serving as an advocate for them and a guide for their families. As the resident rotation director, fellowship associate program director and Intensive Care Unit simulation co-lead, I train those who care for the sickest patients. My goal is to foster a cohesive team approach to patient care that improves outcomes. Utilizing a comprehensive critical care simulation program that includes robust nursing and respiratory therapist involvement, I aim to advance medical education by equipping healthcare providers with the skills and knowledge necessary for exceptional patient care.

In addition, I serve as the lead simulation expert for the hospital-wide code team committee, which provides staff with opportunities to train for and manage patient decompensation events effectively. This initiative also focuses on strategies to prevent such events, further enhancing patient safety and care quality. I am always excited to connect with fellow professionals who share a passion for advancing medical education and patient care. If you have ideas or are interested in collaborating to expand the reach and effectiveness of interventions that enable and empower all staff to provide the best care possible, I would love to hear from you.
