My clinical specialty is pediatric emergency medicine. When I was a teenager, I received care from a wonderful nurse named Donna. I was inspired to become a nurse because of her kindness. While working as a nurse, a nurse practitioner named Jane inspired me to go back to school to expand my practice and become a nurse practitioner.

I want every family that I come in contact with to know that I care deeply about providing the best care. Every patient I see is the most important person at that moment. I believe that everyone deserves respect and to be heard. I listen and make sure that I meet all of the needs I can in the short time I have while providing for my patient's urgent care needs.

I received a humanitarian medal when I was in the Air Force. As part of a team of health care professionals deployed to Houston, Texas, I cared for people displaced because of severe flooding. I was also a quarterly award winner when I was employed as a civilian provider at the Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. I had the highest number of encounters (7,000) for the fiscal year. Having a child recognize me as someone who has cared for them in the past is very gratifying. Receiving a hug from a patient or to have a child reach for me warms my heart. Lastly, anytime a family acknowledges the care they have received and feel that it was delivered in a special way is more rewarding than anything!

When I’m not working, I love to renovate old homes. I also enjoy singing, baking and spending time with my grandchildren.
