About

Biography

I'm a clinical counselor specializing in child and adolescent psychotherapy. My work is based in the school setting, which provides a unique viewpoint on this part of a patient's life. We collaborate with others in the school community, providing additional insight into the stressors patients face in their particular environment. My services provide easy access to evidence-based care and offer a more in-depth understanding of their world that can be incredibly supportive throughout the treatment process. I have seen firsthand how valuable it is for patients to have access to this level of care in an environment they feel comfortable in.

I have always had an interest in understanding others. I thoroughly enjoyed an advanced placement (AP) psychology class in high school and ultimately chose that as my college major. A family member went into the counseling field, which gave me a close-up perspective on this particular helping profession. This career path offered me a chance to combine my own skills and interests with a unique need in the world around me. I worked with children in my first job after graduate school, and I found a deep appreciation for young people. I love the opportunity to meet children where they are and establish therapeutic relationships that can lead them towards their healing.

Building, creating and strengthening therapeutic relationships is fundamental to me. Children and adolescents must know they are seen and understood before they can trust the treatment process. This includes partnering with parents and guardians and fostering a triad of support between patient, parents and provider. I enjoy learning about all the aspects of a patient's life, their interests, hopes and dreams, and how whatever has brought them to me might be getting in the way of living their best life.

When I'm not working, I love reading, watching my favorite TV shows and spending time with my family and our golden retriever, Ruby. I am a pop culture enthusiast and love keeping up with the latest happenings in the world around me, especially if it involves Taylor Swift or Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
