It's exciting to work with children with hearing loss and observe their progress over time. I find it rewarding to provide improved auditory access for children so they can succeed academically and socially.

About

Biography

My clinical specialty is audiology, and I am particularly interested in amplification (hearing aids and bone conduction devices), single-sided deafness and auditory processing disorders. I attempt to provide patients and their families with detailed information so they can make the best decisions about their care. I strongly support a patient/family-centered care approach. I'm open to new techniques and keep up to date on evidence-based practice research.

I fit patients with traditional hearing aids and bone conduction devices, contralateral routing of signal (CROS) systems, and low-gain hearing aids for patients with auditory processing disorders or perceived listening difficulties. It's exciting to work with children with hearing loss and observe their progress over time. I find it rewarding to provide improved auditory access for children so they can succeed academically and socially.

I’m also a researcher. Previously, I helped study the impact of activating advanced hearing aid features for pre-teenage and teenage patients and how this might help improve performance in challenging listening environments. I'm now working with the team examining the accuracy of app-based hearing tests.

I am honored to have been awarded The Clinical Practice Award for the Division of Audiology at Cincinnati Children’s.

When not working, I enjoy coaching my children's sports teams, hiking, playing pickleball, following my favorite sports teams and keeping up on current events.
