Vanessa Olbrecht, MD, MBA, graduated as class valedictorian and Alpha Omega Alpha from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2007 and received the William Stewart Halsted award in surgery. She completed her internship in surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 2008 before transitioning to her Anesthesia residency at the same institution. She joined the faculty of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center as an assistant professor within the UC Department of Anesthesiology after finishing her pediatric anesthesia fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She received her MBA in 2015 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Olbrecht’s achievements include multiple research publications in major journals focused on clinical outcomes in both surgery and anesthesia. She has presented her work at local and national meetings and has won several awards for these presentations, including a Gertie Marx award and the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia Young Investigator Award.
