About

Biography

I’m a nurse practitioner (NP) on the GI/Liver and Intestinal Transplant Team (May 2023), with additional experience working as a psychiatric mental health NP. Before transitioning into my current role, I practiced in pulmonary and complex care medicine for over six years. The most important thing patients and families should know is that they are partners in their healthcare treatment plan. Patients and families will be heard, respected and cared for to the best of my ability.

My care philosophy is patient-centered. Making the patient and family know they are a valuable part of the treatment team is essential. Empowering the patient to be involved in care decisions is vital for sustaining treatment outside the acute care setting.

I had the opportunity to take a senior internship class in high school, where I was able to observe several different roles. This experience guided me into medicine. I started out in medical research, transitioning to clinical work shortly after that. That’s when I realized I wanted to pursue a lifelong career as an NP. This decision was the best way to invest in the care and treatment of those I could serve. I have presented at a national conference on complex care, and my work has been published.

In my free time, I like to spend time with family and friends. I love to play soccer, work out and travel. I also love to bake and learn new recipes.
