I specialize in audiology, where I see children for behavioral hearing tests and hearing device needs. I see patients with hearing loss who can benefit from hearing aids, bone conduction devices and cochlear implants. I have a particular interest in providing family-centered care and working with children who have complex medical needs. In striving to provide individualized care, during every appointment, I attempt to create a space where families feel they can express themselves openly. By better understanding the family and their needs, we can work together as a team to advocate for proper access for the child.
I heard about audiology for the first time in college. I was immediately hooked. Soon after, I was drawn to work with children, as I saw how crucial access to communication is for young, growing minds. I enjoy staying updated with current research and hearing device technology and love the balance that both art and science play in this profession.
In any given appointment, I try to match the child's energy to make them as comfortable as possible. In this, I find myself learning little details of the child’s story, which are truly the moments that make me love my job. I encourage any parent visiting our division to ask questions. In asking questions, you broaden your horizon and equip yourself with tools to be successful.
In my free time, I love doing a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout in the morning at my local exercise studio. In the evening, you can find me curled up with a good book or baking a new recipe in the kitchen.
