About

Biography

I'm an occupational therapist (OT) specializing in feeding, eating and swallowing difficulties in children from infancy through young adulthood. I offer a variety of expertise, including infant feeding, swallow dysfunction, celiac support and disordered eating, such as avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). My work with pediatric feeding disorders over the last 23 years has provided me with a vast knowledge base and passion for the families and children I treat. When I am not working on feeding challenges, I have the opportunity to support the Thomas Center for Down Syndrome.

My family fostered 72 children. My adopted brother attended OT, and I knew I wanted to offer that kind of support to children and families. I had the opportunity to join the team at Cincinnati Children's in 2010 and continue to love the collaboration and support.

Problem solving with families always leads to greater support and success. The more complex the feeding challenge, the greater the need for collaboration. Listening to caregivers and the child helps support understanding and development of an individual plan. I enjoy fostering the unique relationships and bonds within this activity of daily living.

I currently hold a specialty certification in feeding, eating and swallowing through the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Within the division, I support competency training for all outpatient OT. I'm a member of the Interdisciplinary Feeding Team, the Multidisciplinary Feeding Treatment Team and the Celiac Team. I also support behavioral feeding treatment through the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (DDBP).

When I'm not working, I love camping in the mountains and hiking all day. I enjoy watching my children play their multiple sports and spending time with friends.
