Feeding Disorder Expertise and Coordinated Care
Top-Ranked Pediatric Expertise
Cincinnati Children’s is home to nationally recognized pediatric specialists who care for children with complex feeding and swallowing disorders. Families turn to our team for expert evaluations, advanced therapies and trusted second opinions.
As part of Cincinnati Children’s Aerodigestive and Esophageal Center, our specialists work closely with experts in gastroenterology, pulmonology, otolaryngology, behavioral medicine and developmental care.
Coordinated Feeding Evaluations
Our team-based care model helps families get answers faster. During one appointment, your child may see specialists from speech therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, social work and medical subspecialties.
Our providers review findings together and create one clear care plan before your visit ends. This approach reduces repeated appointments and helps families move forward with confidence.
Advanced Feeding and Swallowing Care
Our team offers advanced diagnostic evaluations and evidence-based therapies for children with complex feeding disorders and dysphagia. Cincinnati Children’s was the first program to offer pureed by g-tube (PBGT) diet support for nutrition and gastrointestinal management.
We were also the first to offer Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) within this care setting. These innovative tools help our specialists better understand swallowing problems and guide safer feeding plans.
Personalized Support for the Whole Child
Every child has unique feeding challenges. That is why we create personalized care plans tailored to each patient’s medical, nutritional, developmental and behavioral needs.
Feeding disorders can affect growth, breathing, social development and family routines. Our team looks at the whole child to help improve feeding skills, nutrition and quality of life.
Convenient Access to Specialized Care
Families often come to Cincinnati Children’s after limited progress with local treatment options. We offer coordinated appointments and growing telehealth services to help families access specialized feeding care more easily.
Many families also seek our team for expert second opinions when feeding and swallowing problems are difficult to diagnose or treat.
