Tests Offered by CBDI Clinical Laboratories
CBDI Clinical Laboratories at Cincinnati Children’s provides specialized diagnostic testing to support healthcare providers caring for children with cancer and blood disorders. Our focus is delivering accurate, timely, and actionable results to guide diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care.
Specialized Testing Services
Our services include:
- Flow Cytometry
- Extensive immunophenotyping and cellular functional assays to describe various leukocyte populations for the identification and monitoring of various primary and acquired immune diseases.
- Leukemia and Lymphoma: Immunophenotyping for pediatric leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood disorders. COG Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) testing for B-ALL.
- PNH: We offer a 7-color PNH assay using GPI-linked antibodies and FLAER to evaluate PNH.
- HLA B27: Flow cytometry based testing for rapid detection of HLA-B27 antigen expression.
- Platelet testing encompassing phenotype and function.
- Soluble Protein Biomarkers – Quantification of a broad spectrum of soluble factors and cytokines. Includes markers not commonly available elsewhere such as sC5B-9, sCD163, angiopoietin-2and CXCL9.
- Platelet Function – Comprehensive platelet function testing including aggregometry, lumiaggregometry, ristocetin-induced platelet aggregation and flow cytometry methods enabling detection of a range of inherited platelet disorders.
- Bleeding and Clotting Disorders – vonWillebrand disease, anti-phospholipid syndrome, anti-coagulation monitoring (rivaroxaban, bivalirudin), thrombotic evaluation, hemophilia treatment monitorin, coagulation factor inhibitors
- Red cell disorders – Specialty testing available for comprehensive diagnosis of hemoglobinopathies and hemolytic anemia:
