Cincinnati Children’s Resident Research Competition: Big Ideas in Primary Care
Cincinnati Children’s sponsors an annual competition for research ideas. Two awardees will receive an honorarium and present their research ideas related to primary care at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Awardees also meet with faculty to discuss research and fellowship opportunities.
Who Is Eligible?
Residents in their first or second years of pediatric residency at any institution are eligible to apply.
What Is the Opportunity?
Residents who receive the award will pitch their ideas virtually at General Pediatrics Research Rounds in early spring each year, schedules permitting.
How to Apply
Residents should submit:
- A statement describing their interests in pediatric research (100 words).
- An abstract or summary of their big ideas for how primary care and healthcare delivery can enhance child health and well-being (approximately 250 words).
Abstracts submitted to other organizations, such as PAS or AAP, may be submitted as written for this award.

When to Apply
Submit applications by midnight on December 1. Awardees will be notified by 5 pm on December 15.
