Join a national leader in nephrology and hypertension. U.S. News & World Report ranked the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Cincinnati Children’s as second best in the nation. As one of only a few NIH-funded training programs based at a children’s hospital, we’re even better.
Under the direction of Dr. Prasad Devarajan, nephrology division chief, we offer a thorough curriculum that combines a very busy clinical service with opportunities for research and specialization. The clinical facilities are outstanding, and we have a proud history of cutting-edge treatment and research, including renal transplantation, since 1965. The clinical research we conduct is extremely broad: it extends from translational efforts focusing on biomarkers of renal disease to patient disease states such as hypertension and chronic renal insufficiency, as well as cutting-edge quality improvement and outcomes research. Our basic science endeavors focus on genetic renal diseases, glomerular diseases, renal development, and acute kidney injury.
