Call

Call is variable depending on the year of training. Call starts second year during Adult Psychiatry (late call shifts during IP Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry Consults). There is also 24-hour call on Hematology / Oncology or GI during Pediatrics.

Third year call is typically weekend shifts in the Psych Emergency Room and covering back up call for Central Clinic. During third and fourth year you take 24-hour call in the PICU. During fourth and fifth year in CAP, you take weekend calls (home + in hospital), night calls (home call), and day calls monthly. Call is very manageable and there is always a backup attending during these call shifts.
