You Helped Us Achieve So Much for Children in 2015
Together, we expanded and improved facilities – reinforcing our commitments to mental health, research and discovery. We used ventricular assist devices and 3D imaging technology to give new life to children awaiting heart transplants. We partnered with local schools to give kids in our city the resources they need to succeed. And that’s just for starters.
You were with us through it all. Thank you for making a difference for kids! Learn more about how your generous support changed lives in 2016.
Celebrating Cincinnati Children’s With Hometown Treasures
We were so grateful to be joined by 1,400 friends and supporters during our 12th annual Celestial Ball, where we celebrated our longstanding partnership with the Cincinnati Reds.
Thank you for making the 2016 Celestial Ball a grand slam!
“There’s a lot of common ground that exists between the Reds and Cincinnati Children’s. Like the Urban Youth Academy, which Cincinnati Children’s has been part of from the ground floor,” said legendary Reds announcer Marty Brenneman. “It’s a marriage made in heaven.”
Together, we're bringing our community the joy of happier, healthier kids. Through the Celestial Ball, sponsors and generous donors like you contributed more than $1 million to support our community health programs.
Making Every Moment Count For The Last 20 Years
For two decades, StarShine Hospice has helped families celebrate every moment they have with their child, when the moments are fewer than they ought to be.
The region’s only exclusively pediatric hospice program, StarShine serves more than 100 families each year. Their bereavement specialists provide compassionate care and unique services, often in the child’s home, ranging from medical care and pain-relieving massage therapy, to chaplain visits and music therapy.
And when the unthinkable happens, our experts are there to offer bereavement counseling and support for the whole family. From keepsake boxes to scrapbooks to creating music that incorporates the child’s heartbeat, StarShine helps families find a way to capture the unique and precious spirit of their child.
