Letter from the President

Friends,

With the beginning of spring comes the opportunity to reflect on the many ways we work together to bring new hope and possibilities to the children and families who rely on us. Each and every day.

In this special Year-in-Review issue of For the Children, we highlight four programs that our donors make possible. While these are only a few of the many ways your support makes a difference, we hope you will see — and feel — the impact of your generosity.

From helping us expand mental health services for children and teens in our community to funding innovative surgical programs for brain tumors, together we’re improving care — and lives.

You also help us pioneer discovery. Thanks to your generosity, we published four breakthrough studies in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) this past year. This is a remarkable testament to our world-class researchers. You’ll read about one NEJM study: our discovery of key genes that may one day end the suffering caused by premature birth. You’ll also learn more about our pioneering vaccine work, including the testing and development of a promising vaccine for the Ebola virus.

Nearly everything we accomplish for children and families requires collaboration. And you are a vital part of our work. Thank you. Because of you, 2017 was another great year for the Cincinnati Children’s family. We’re so happy to share our achievements with you, for we are all caregivers. Our successes are your successes.

Thank you for your ongoing support. We’re changing the outcome together!

With much gratitude,

Michael Fisher
