Letter from the President

Friends,

To say that 2020 was a challenging year is certainly an understatement.

The combined effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, economic uncertainty, and societal, racial and political division required all of us to pause, reflect and face some very difficult decisions. Decisions that impacted us financially, emotionally, socially, and sometimes, physically.

Yet, as is so often the case, our patients, families, caregivers, researchers and community of supporters handled adversity with grace and perseverance. Our Cincinnati Children’s teams rose to each challenge with dedication, compassion and resiliency. Our patients and families showed us bravery and strength. And you, our steadfast partners, displayed unwavering commitment.

Together, we accomplished so much for children.

We’re pleased to publish our shared achievements in this special year-in-review edition—and introduce you to just a few of the many donors who make our work possible.

You’ll meet a courageous family who turned loss into action, funding critical research and care to conquer brain tumors. And you’ll learn about two very special programs that champion diversity and inclusion within our medical center and well beyond, thanks to some very generous donor support.

As we look to our future, and we pursue our potential together so all kids can pursue theirs, we know with you by our side we can accomplish anything. Thank you again for your support.
