Empowering Spanish-Speaking Families to Drive Change at Cincinnati Children’s
The Spanish Family Forum is a group of Spanish-speaking caregivers whose children receive care at Cincinnati Children’s.
The forum meets monthly to co-produce solutions with clinical and operation teams at Cincinnati Children’s. Members are dedicated to using their lived experience to improve the care of all patients and families.
A Milestone in Health Equity and Family Partnership
The Spanish Family Forum has had broad impact including:
- Co-designing quality improvement interventions with clinical teams for clearer signage in the hospital
- Providing invaluable feedback on language access services, hospital safety culture, and digital health
- Insights from the forum were integrated into broader institutional strategies, including the Language Access Plan and Patient and Family Experience Surveys
They have become an integral part of centering family voices and driving change so that all children can reach their full health potential.
