Perinatal Outreach Program Services

The Cincinnati Children’s Perinatal Outreach Program (CCPOP) offers a range of services to support perinatal care providers and improve outcomes for mothers and infants.

Communication Center

We facilitate collaboration among regional perinatal specialty groups, ensuring seamless communication between providers of perinatal care.

Education

We offer educational programs covering all aspects of perinatal care, including preconception, prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, neonatal care, and social support.

NICU Physician Liaison

The NICU Physician Liaison provides follow-up communication with referral hospitals, pediatricians and obstetricians for each patient admitted to the Cincinnati Children’s NICU.

Conferences

Our organization is committed to advancing perinatal and neonatal care through collaborative conferences and summits that bring together experts to improve outcomes for mothers and infants.

Perinatal Mortality & Morbidity Conferences

In collaboration with leading maternal-fetal medicine specialists from Cincinnati Children’s Neonatology Division, the University of Cincinnati Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and TriHealth’s Tri-State Maternal-Fetal Medicine Associates, we coordinate perinatal mortality and morbidity conferences at regional delivery hospitals.

Perinatal Nurse Directors, Managers & Educators Group

Regional perinatal nurse managers meet quarterly to network, share best practices, and identify strategies to enhance clinical care for mothers and infants.

Perinatal Outreach Simulation Program

The Perinatal Outreach Simulation Program is currently providing custom in-situ simulation-based neonatal resuscitation scenarios to Level I and II hospitals in the Cincinnati Children’s service area.

Quality Improvement

Our Clinical Quality Improvement Manager collaborates with Level II and III hospitals on evidence-based projects to enhance perinatal care. Our initiatives range from facility-specific improvements to regional efforts aimed at reducing morbidity.

We leverage data from the Vermont Oxford Network, Regional Perinatal Database, neonatal hospital readmission rates, and preterm delivery statistics (<32/35 weeks) to identify trends and drive measurable improvements in perinatal health.
