Conducting Research at Cincinnati Children’s

The Office for Clinical and Translational Research (OCTR) functions as a “one-stop” clinical research support center – from concept development to publication. Our mission is to provide clinical investigators and sponsors with comprehensive support services, research tools, experienced research personnel, and facilities to conduct or facilitate pediatric and adult clinical research – from identification and development of research opportunities to phase I through phase IV clinical research trials.

There are many reasons to partner with us. We offer these resources, services and characteristics:

Partner with the OCTR. From start to finish, we can provide you with the support services and resources necessary to conduct or facilitate your pediatric and adult clinical research.

Research Facilities
•Over 1.4 million square feet of space dedicated to research
•Clinical Sciences Pavilion (completed in 2015): a 15-story, 445,000-square-foot research tower that includes a research-focused outpatient clinic with 28 exam rooms, a metabolic kitchen, DXA scanner and Vascular Imaging Core
•Beds throughout the hospital (593 beds total) may be accessed for research purposes depending upon the disease/study area and availability
•Cincinnati Center for Clinical Research: includes an 18-room outpatient unit (for children and adults) and a 36-bed inpatient adults unit
•On-site investigational research pharmacies
•Monitor rooms, pediatric- and adult-friendly exam/treatment rooms and waiting areas throughout Cincinnati Children’s
•Convenient parking

Cincinnati Children’s recruits pediatric and adult participants from Greater Cincinnati in eight counties. As one of the area’s only pediatric hospitals, Cincinnati Children’s serves one of every four families in Southwest Ohio, Southeast Indiana and Northern Kentucky.

Cincinnati Children’s has more than 100 centers of major clinical studies expertise, which are also affiliated with other treatment and research centers nationally and internationally.

Cincinnati Children’s research expertise extends beyond its internal professional staff, research facility resources and close affiliation with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine staff. It has links to a number of large treatment and research networks.
