Clariom™ S and Clariom™ D Arrays (Human, Mouse, and Rat)

The newest microarrays are the Clariom™ S and the Clariom™ D GeneChip Arrays (Thermo Fisher, previously Affymetrix). These arrays were released in the summer of 2016.

The Clariom™ S Array is a complete genome array designed to provide whole-transcript coverage. It includes content for approximately 20,000 well -annotated genes.

The Clariom™ D Array is a good tool to use for in depth transcriptome analysis. This array has content for coding and non-coding genes, exons, and splice variants.

For a project that includes samples with at least 50 nanograms of starting total RNA, the core staff suggests using the Genechip WT Plus Reagent Assay for target synthesis and labeling, and hybridizing the biotin-labeled cDNA targets to Clariom Arrays. The concentration for each sample should be at least 10 nanograms / microliter.

For a project that includes samples with only a small quantity of total RNA (less than 50 nanograms per sample) then the Clariom S Pico Assay is used. For this project an amount of at least 500 picograms of starting total RNA is required. The concentration for each sample should be at least 100 picograms / microliter.
