Stark Research Lab

Our lab investigates a number of research questions related to dietary adherence and nutrition in children with chronic and acute health conditions. Lab director Lori Stark, PhD, ABPP, is a leading expert in these topics; she has developed dietary intervention programs for children with a range of diseases.

Our current projects build off her past work, which has consistently received funding support from the National Institutes of Health and foundations such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Arthritis Foundation.

We currently focus on two funded, ongoing research areas: improving nutritional outcomes in children with cystic fibrosis and decreasing obesity in preschool-age children.

Improving Outcomes in CF

Children with CF require more calories than other children their age. Learn about a program our lab successfully developed to improve dietary adherence, and the online version we are creating for families nationwide. Learn More About Cystic Fibrosis Dietary Tools

Helping Preschoolers and Their Families Achieve Healthy Weight

Our lab has multiple research programs focused on better understanding preschool-age obesity and developing behavioral interventions for this national problem. Learn More About Preschool Obesity
