Adolescent Decision Making about Mobility-Related Healthcare Interventions

This work, led by research fellow Chelsey Anderson, seeks to first understand the current state of decision making by adolescents with cerebral palsy, their parents, and clinicians. This information will then be used to co-create an intervention to facilitate patient engagement in decisions about mobility-related healthcare interventions.

Developing and Assessing a Pediatric Shared Decision Making Curriculum

This work, led by research fellow Vanessa Orellana Villazon, uses rigorous methods including a scoping review and Delphi process to develop a pediatric shared decision making curriculum. This curriculum will be tested for feasibility, acceptability and effectiveness among pediatric residents.

Family Engagement in Primary Care Decision Making

In this study we are using video observation and surveys with parents and adolescent patient to understand the impact of telehealth on shared decision making and health outcomes for children with chronic conditions.

Implementing the COMBINE Trail Results in the ImproveCareNow (ICN) Learning Health Network

Within this larger implementation grant, our team is focused on developing and implementing methods to discuss trial results while sharing decisions with families making treatment decisions.

Developing a Measure of Triadic Shared Decision Making

Existing measure of shared decision making are all dyadic. We are developing a measure that will assess the decision interactions between an adolescent patient, a parent, and a clinician.
