I am a nurse practitioner who works with inpatients in otolaryngology on the Complex Airway floor. My patients have airway conditions, which I treat according to their individual needs. Some families have a child who has a new diagnosis, and they need support as they learn how to care for their child within our multifaceted health system. Other families are familiar with Cincinnati Children’s and our care because they have a child with a complex condition and only need support and guidance.

An excellent pediatric nurse practitioner who was a mentor to me inspired my career choice. She showed me how caring for children in primary care can influence every aspect of that child’s life, allowing them to grow and play in a positive and healthy environment. I was then able to bring that teaching to the medically complex children that I currently care for in ear, nose and throat (ENT) at Cincinnati Children’s.

I was a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner for 12 years, and I have been in ENT for more than 15 years. I’m well rounded in the care and needs of children, from tonsillectomies to complex airway reconstructions. I have spoken and presented at national forums on the care of children with airway issues and postoperative care following airway reconstruction.

In my spare time, I like to lap swim and garden. I also love to Skype with my two wonderful grandchildren, who live too far away to see frequently.
