About

Biography

I’m an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) providing pediatric anesthesia care. Our anesthesia nurse practitioners work to offer the best care to families and patients through detailed chart reviews, clear communication with anesthesia providers, and preoperative planning for patients with complex needs. I look at each child individually and formulate an anesthesia plan that helps them and their family have the best experience.

My interest in becoming a nurse began with my mother, who had a chronic illness. I wanted to help others the way my mother's caregivers helped her. I love working in pediatrics because children are resilient and fun. I was a registered nurse (RN) for 38 years and have been a nurse practitioner (NP) for over 12 years. I began working at Cincinnati Children’s in 1992. I’m also an adjunct professor at Northern Kentucky University. I teach pediatric cardiac anatomy to students getting a master's degree in cardiopulmonary bypass.

I’m honored to have been nominated for the Carol McKenzie Award for Nurse Practitioners (2022). My published work includes Pediatric Preop Hypoglycemia published in the Journal of Perioperative Anesthesia (2024) and a chapter in the book Lessons From My Child: Parents' Experience of Life with a Disabled Child by Cindi Dowling, Neil Nicoll and Bernadette Thomas (2013).

In my free time, I like to run, read and crochet. I also sing in the Sweet Adeline Cincinnati Sound Chorus and the Cincy Noteables quartet.
