I’m a family nurse practitioner caring for pediatric patients. I mainly focus on children with diabetes. Our experienced educational team includes providers certified in diabetes care, education specialists and social workers. We pair yearly visits with the education team and provider visits so patients and families can benefit from the team’s knowledge and guidance.
My mother, who is a doctor in India, inspired me to become a practitioner. I’ve been passionate about healthcare since my childhood. I was drawn to nursing, specifically advanced practice nursing, because I wanted to participate actively in patients' care and learn more about the healthcare field. My first job as a nurse practitioner was at a pediatric primary care clinic. I fell in love with the children and enjoyed interacting with them. It’s very fulfilling when I follow up with my patients and families and they report improvement.
I believe in evidence-based practice and patient/family-centered care. I want to be an advocate for patients and families and prepare them to advocate for themselves by being active participants in their care. My goal is for my patients and families to know how to best care for themselves so that we can reduce emergency room and urgent care visits.
In my free time, I like to read, hike, travel and spend time with my family.
