Since I was young, I have wanted to be a physician with a career that combines science with service to others. I cannot imagine being anything but a pediatrician, simply because I love children. Pediatric patients inspire me every day with their resilience and joy in life.
As an emergency room physician, I strongly believe in listening carefully to family members, as they know their child best, and partnering with them to deliver the best care possible to their child. I also know that a visit to the emergency department is a very stressful time for families, so I offer as much support as possible so they can fully understand the care plan.
I am the medical director of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Liberty Campus Emergency Department and president-elect of the medical staff. I will start my term as president in 2021.
In addition to treating patients and administrative responsibilities, I am also involved in research where my main focus has been on child abuse evaluations in the emergency department.
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy traveling, gardening, hiking and baking.
