I am an assistant professor of pediatrics and a member of the Solid Tumor Team within the Division of Oncology in the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute. I specialize in the treatment of pediatric solid tumors, with a particular interest in neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1)-related tumors. My care philosophy is that patients always come first!
My interest in pediatrics began at a very early age. I love working with children, and their resiliency and optimism inspire me every day.
I earned my medical degree from the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. I then completed my pediatric residency and fellowship in hematology/oncology at Cincinnati Children’s.
My research focuses on improving our understanding of NF1-associated plexiform neurofibromas and identifying new approaches to treat them. My current projects include studying blood biomarkers that may help measure tumor burden and treatment response, as well as evaluating gene therapy as a potential treatment option.
When I’m not working, I enjoy playing basketball and watching the Bengals and Reds. I am also a proud North Carolina State University sports fan.
