Jim Mulloney

I am a certified nurse practitioner with a special interest in congenital heart disease. I consult with all outpatient cardiac surgery patients, perform their day-prior-to-surgery evaluation, and assist with chest tube and line removals during their hospitalization. I also write their pre-operative and operating room orders. I previously worked in adult cardiac surgery, but now I enjoy helping children through their experience.

I believe that the more you know, the less your worry. I help patients view their surgery experience from a positive perspective. I encourage them to focus on how well they will do and help them minimize their worry about what they cannot control.

Cincinnati Children's has talented cardiovascular teams and surgeons to help patients through their experience. I was honored to receive the 2018 Patient Education Advocacy Award from Cincinnati Children’s.

My outside interests include reading and playing chess. I have played online chess with someone from as far away as Germany.
