As a nurse practitioner, I care for premature infants (from 22 weeks of gestation) to full-term infants with pathological or genetic concerns. I focus on making the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) journey as comfortable as possible for families and caregivers, offering them my best skills and knowledge.
I was inspired to pursue my career working with children when I volunteered in newborn intensive care as a high school teenager.
In my practice, I am a hopeful realist in discussions with families and caregivers. Though I’ve never personally experienced having a child in the NICU, I have had triplet nieces and twin nephews in the NICU. I learned a lot from their care and treatment and my sister’s experiences. Being realistic and honest about each situation, without taking away hope for healing, helps families get through the NICU journey.
I am a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
I love spending my free time with my husband, two children and two dogs. I’m also a sports fan.
