As a night-time physician in the Division of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immune Deficiency, I deal mainly with acute issues that come up overnight. I may not have answers to every question, particularly if they relate to long-term care decisions, but I prefer you ask to see me rather than worry all night about something I could answer.
I, or one of the other night-time physicians, stop by nightly. We hope our presence comforts the families and lets them know their children are in good hands if a problem develops overnight.
I have always liked working with children. I’m also fascinated with the immune system, which originates in the bone marrow.
In my free time, I like to quilt, be with my two cats and read fiction.
