When I was 12 years old, my neighbor gave birth to a baby diagnosed with biliary atresia. I helped my neighbor give him medications and encouraged him to eat to gain weight for a liver transplant. It was during this time my passion to be in the medical field was solidified, and I knew I wanted to work with children.
I am a nurse practitioner and member of the inpatient surgical team. We cover inpatient surgeries for general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, gynecology and plastic surgery. I feel passionate about what I do and strive to provide the best, most informed care that I can.
I feel the most important approach to care is ensuring that the patient and family have a part in developing their care plan. Once the plan is decided, they should be continually updated on progress and any changes. When I am at work, the patient and their family are my top priority.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. I also enjoy playing soccer, running and working out.
