Internship Program Components

The following are program components for those accepted into the internship:

Educational Components

  1. Participation in staff led in-services on topics related to Child Life Competencies.
  2. Weekly meetings with internship coordinator.
  3. Weekly written assignments on topics that facilitate translation of theory to clinical practice.
  4. Formal written case study
  5. Internship project
  6. Evidenced Based Practice (EBP) components will be part of both the case study and internship project and include formal EBP appraisal as guided by an EBP mentor.
  7. Final presentation to Division of Child Life & Integrative Care.

Clinical Practice Components

  1. Individual therapeutic interventions.
  2. Daily journal of experiences.
  3. Clinical skills development focused on the following core competencies:
