Surgeon's Phone Call Gives Family Confidence
Kyle Dawson's parents suspected a sledding accident was what was making him limp at the end of the winter in 2011. But doctors diagnosed him with something they had never heard of: Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease. Kyle's hip joint wasn't working properly, and he needed a series of surgeries and casts to repair it. When Kyle's surgeon called the Dawsons at home to follow up on Kyle's progress, they felt even more confident in Kyle's care team. "I'm just happy he's running and jumping as a normal kid," Lynn Dawson says. "The little things in life don't matter like you think they do."
