Ruddy takes on chief-of-staff role at Liberty
Rich Ruddy, MD, has been named chief of staff at the Liberty Campus. He has been the Liberty Campus medical director since 2015 and division director of Emergency Medicine prior to that. He holds the appointment as a professor of pediatrics in the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
“The role change from medical director to being the Liberty Campus chief of staff, I anticipate, will expand my ability to fully partner internally and with our community to establish more integrated services that are convenient and deliver consistent evidence-based care. The connection of our northern strategy with our current expansion in Avondale with the Critical Care Tower is a great opportunity to anticipate the needs of all children who can have better outcomes through our best practices,” said Ruddy.
Ruddy earned a bachelor of science from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School. He completed his residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, with a sub-board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
Ruddy is nationally published in pediatric emergency care, quality improvement and is a primary investigator in the only pediatric emergency medicine federally funded research network. He is also a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, Society of Academic Emergency Medicine and the American Pediatric Society, among others. For over a decade, he has been a campus leader in Humanism and Professionalism and is currently the president-elect of Cincinnati Children’s medical staff.
