Mike Gittelman, MD, FAAP, president, Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) led the Ohio AAP to national recognition when it was recently named the 2018 AAP Outstanding Very Large Chapter (the chapter’s fourth consecutive win). The announcement took place at the 2019 AAP Annual Leadership Forum in Itasca, Illinois, in March. The chapter was recognized for its Put a Lid on It bike helmet program, Injury Prevention Plus SEEK (Safe Environment for Every Kid), HPV Hackathon and its spread and growth of existing programs and education.
This is the first time a chapter has ever won four consecutive years they were eligible.
Stella Davies, MBBS, PhD, MRCP, director, Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immune Deficiency, at Cincinnati Children’s, has been elected president of the Board of Directors, of the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy.
