Takahisa Nakamura, PhD
Assistant Professor
Dr. Nakamura received his PhD from the University of Tokyo in 2003. He had postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Gökhan S. Hotamisligil at Harvard School of Public Health, followed by his faculty appointment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center within the UC Department of Pediatrics in 2013.

Elise has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Wilmington College. She is the lab manager and manages the mouse colony. She has been in the Nakamura Lab since the summer of 2013.

Joonbae Seo, PhD
Research Fellow
Dr. JoonBae Seo received his bachelor degree in Polymer Science Engineering from the Kyungpook National University in Daegu, South Korea, his master degree in Plant Biology, and his PhD degree in Genetics at the Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. 
Dr. Seo joined to Dr. Nakamua Lab as a postdoctoral research fellow.

Kazutoshi Murakami, MD
Research Fellow
Dr. Murakami earned his MD degree in Japan. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Japanese Red Cross Okayama Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Internal Medicine and Board Certified Diabetologist at Okayama University Hospital in Japan. Dr. Murakami joined Dr. Nakamura’s Lab as a research fellow in 2016.

Tsuyoshi Okura

Trainee

Dr. Okura earned his MD degree at Tottori University in Japan. He received his PhD from the University of Tottori in 2005. He is Board Certified Diabetologist and Endocrinologist in Japan. He joined Dr. Nakamura’s Lab as a visiting researcher in 2019.
