Michael holds a BS in Cell and Structural Biology from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. He serves as Biobank manager and has been with the project since its inception. Michael is responsible for managing staff and daily operations of the Biobank as well as overseeing project budget, sub-contracts and enrollment center payments. He has been with the Division of Human Genetics and the Nichols lab since 1998.
Research Assistant IV
Katie is a Cincinnati native (northern Kentucky, to be precise). She has been with the PAH Biobank since 2012, and the Division of Human Genetics since 2006. She received her BS in Biology from Northern Kentucky University in 2006. Katie serves as the Study Coordinator keeping in contact with all of our enrolling centers, updating our regulatory documents and enrolling patients at Cincinnati Children’s into the PAH Biobank. Her extensive research experience still leaves her helping out in the lab, particularly with generating and analyzing the sequencing data.
Phil has been a member of the Nichols lab since 2004. Growing up in Cincinnati, he graduated from St. Xavier High School and then Miami University with a BA in Microbiology before beginning his work at Children’s. Phil currently resides in the Colerain area with his wife and three children.
Research Assistant III
Clayborne grew up in the Cincinnati/northern Kentucky area. He received his BS in Biochemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Northern Kentucky University in the spring of 2012. He has worked with the PAH Biobank since January 2013.
Anna grew up in the Chicagoland area and moved to Cincinnati to attend Xavier University. She graduated in May 2013 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Spanish. Since then, she has been working at the PAH Biobank as a research assistant.
Research Assistant III
Amber is an Indiana native. She received her BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Evansville in 2012. Amber joined the Nichols lab in January 2014. Her favorite lab activities include DNA extractions and analyzing sequencing data.
Austin’s first experience with the Nichols lab was during the fall of 2012 during a Biotechnology Capstone for his senior year at Loveland High School. Once he graduated in the spring of 2013, Austin was hired into a student position and has been working with the Nichols lab since. He is currently studying Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Cincinnati.
