Sponsored Research Services

Sponsored Research Services (SRS) facilitates the administration of externally sponsored projects at Cincinnati Children’s. SRS is a central office organized around the primary functions of pre-award, sponsored programs compliance, and contracts. SRS provides support and assistance to investigators and division administrators on the preparation, submission, administration, compliance and management of grants and contracts. Sponsored Research Services partners with Post-Award Accounting for award set-up, award modifications, and award management.

SRS provides communication, education and training to the Cincinnati Children’s research community on topics such as proposal preparation, contracting and subcontracting, and sponsored programs compliance.

Sponsored Research Services Pre-Award

SRS Pre-Award is responsible for facilitating the submission of proposals to external sponsors. The Pre-Award team assists investigators and division administrators in the preparation of the administrative components of proposals, reviewing and authorizing submission of all proposals, and serving as the primary liaison between Cincinnati Children’s and external sponsors.

Sponsored Research Services Contracts

SRS Contracts issues, reviews, negotiates, and executes research-related agreements with federal, industry, foundation, and other sponsors.  This team also prepares and negotiates budgets and contracts for industry sponsored clinical trials.

Sponsored Research Services Compliance

SRS Compliance is responsible for managing inquiries related to safeguarding sponsored project funds.  SRS Compliance serves as the main point of contact for subrecipient monitoring, A-133 audit, and various aspects of internal monitoring and control.  In addition, SRS Compliance manages the sponsored project effort reporting process and is operationally responsible for monitoring cost transfers and other transactions involving sponsored projects.
