Celiac Disease Center Resources

Our patient and family resources provide information and support for you and your family throughout your journey with the Celiac Disease Center at Cincinnati Children's.

Community Engagement

The Celiac Disease Center aims to foster community among families affected by celiac disease. We understand that following a gluten free diet can make children and families feel isolated, and we hear from families that they appreciate opportunities to get together, learn, eat, and have fun! Here are some of the activities we have held, but we have plans for many more:

  • Annual Patient and Family Education Day: This half-day event at the hospital includes talks from experts on hot topics in celiac disease, a research update, breakouts for teens and adults, and age-appropriate fun activities for younger kids while their parents attend talks. We also host local gluten free food vendors providing samples, bread tasting contest, door prizes and catered gluten free lunch.
  • FC Cincinnati Games: We head to the stadium with group tickets! We’ve had a catered tailgate and are working hard to increase the gluten free offerings at the stadium.
  • Overnight at the Cincinnati Zoo: We participated in our own overnight program with backstage tours, animal encounters, and gluten free smore’s and breakfast.
  • Cookie Decorating Parties: We have held holiday cookie decorating parties at the hospital with cookies supplied by Georgina of Creations by Georgina gluten free bakery.
  • Camp GFFs: This overnight camp experience started in 2025. It is located at Camp Joy in Clarksville OH provides a safe camp experience for kids age 7 to 17 at a discounted price thanks to generous donors.
