Chromosome karyotyping and molecular cytogenetics analyses play an important role in the study of chromosome abnormalities, genetic aberrations, cell line characterization and establishing disease models.

The Mouse Cytogenetics Core at the Cincinnati Children’s Division of Human Genetics offers research investigators support for mouse classic karyotyping and molecular cytogenetic studies. Services include chromosome analysis of mouse tissues and cell lines, karyotype characterization of embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), and locus copy number enumeration, refining chromosome breakage sites, and mapping of transgene integration sites.
