The Division of Hematology delivers world-class care for children and young adults facing a wide spectrum of blood and vascular conditions. From common concerns to complex disorders, our specialized blood disease programs offer comprehensive diagnostics, multidisciplinary treatment, and access to groundbreaking research. With nationally recognized centers of excellence and a team of dedicated experts, we ensure every patient receives personalized, forward-thinking care.

Classical Hematology

Our Classical Hematology program provides expert care for children and young adults with a wide range of blood disorders, including iron deficiency anemia, autoimmune cytopenias like ITP and Evans syndrome, iron overload (hemochromatosis), and hereditary hemolytic anemias. We offer advanced diagnostic testing, coordinated care across specialties, and access to research studies and registries for rare conditions.

Hemoglobinopathies

Our Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center is a national leader in caring for children with sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and other hemoglobin disorders. We also diagnose and treat rare red blood cell conditions.

Hemostasis and Thrombosis

We provide advanced care for children and young adults with bleeding and clotting disorders. Our programs include a federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center, the Young Women with Bleeding Disorders Clinic, and collaboration with the Cerebrovascular Clinic.

Hemangioma and Vascular Malformations

Our center is one of the largest in North America, offering expert care for hemangiomas and complex vascular anomalies. We are home to three Centers of Excellence for hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), Sturge-Weber syndrome, and lymphatic disorders.
